Monthly Real Estate Market Update October 2020
With Black Friday around the corner, shoppers are gearing up and getting ready. We have yet to see the shopping trends this year and whether or not the malls and retails stores will be crowded or majority of consumers will switch to online shopping.
Last month year-over-year housing prices were up across our communities: approximately 18% in Barrie, 16.5% in Bradford, almost 19% in Newmarket, and almost 14% in the Toronto area.
For October 2020 vs. October 2019, you’ll see the transactions were up in every city listed below, with newmarket leading the way with 54.86% increase in total units sold. When we look at the average sale price we’re up drastically in all of our communities when you compare it to last year. Newmarket again, led the way with the highest price increase in properties year over year, followed by Barrie at a close second.
The average sale price was up in October 2020 over October 2019: in Barrie, the average sale price was $598,460, in Bradford, the average sale price was $886,848, in Newmarket, the average sale price was $957,429, and in Toronto, the average sale price was $968,318.
