Last month year-over-year housing prices were up across our communities: approximately 12% in Barrie, 12% in Bradford, 14% in Newmarket, and 12% in the Toronto area.
The only thing that’s hotter than the weather outside is the real estate market. Sale prices are going up in June 2020 compared to June 2019 even though transactions are down. We’re up well over 10% in all of our communities, which is an amazing from last year. So, if you’re looking to sell now is the time!
The average sale price was up in June 2020 over June 2019: in Barrie the average sale price was about $552,164, in Bradford the average sale price was about $841,820, in Newmarket the average sale price was about $928,705, and in Toronto the average sale price was about $930,869.
Below is a chart for 2 bedroom rental rates for the city of Barrie and Toronto year over year from 2012 to 2020. You can see that rental rates for in Barrie increased by $304 in 2020 and rental rates in Toronto increased by a whopping $692.
