Monthly Real Estate Market Update January 2021
January 2021 vs. January 2020, I sound like a broken record, but we’re up in all of our communities and of all of our categories.
Last month year-over-year housing prices were up across our communities: 36% in Barrie, 35% in Bradford, 30% in Newmarket, and 16% in the Toronto area.
For January 2021 vs. January 2020, you’ll see the transactions were also up in every city listed below, with Toronto leading the way with a 52% increase in total units sold. Barrie posted a 23% increase in units sold year over year, Newmarket was up 21% and Barrie posted a 23% increase in transactions.
The average sale price was up in January 2021 vs. January 2020: in Barrie, the average sale price was $691,307, in Bradford, the average sale price was $996,154, in Newmarket, the average sale price was $1,065,899, and in Toronto, the average sale price was $967,885.
