Hello everyone! Thanks for tuning in to Matt’s Stats for August 2026! Hope you like our new templates, we wanted to freshen it up just in time for the fall market. This is the last month of the summer market. Transactions are mostly up in our focus communities year-over-year. Newmarket and New Tecumseh both posting 20%+ increases versus the previous year. The average sales price is down again in the majority of our communities when compared to last year. Orillia is the only focus city to post significant growth with a +12.3% increase and Toronto squeeked a small increase in YOY Sales Price of 0.1%.
When we look at month-over-month, August was a bit of a slower month but we did see a transaction increase in some of our focus communities. Midland, Newmarket, Wasaga Beach and New Tecumseth all posted increases in month-over-month transactions. Month-over-month pricing is a bit up and down depending on where you live. New Tecumseth and Orillia both posting double digit month-over-month average sales price increases.
