Monthly Real Estate Market Update April 2021
April 2021 vs. April 2020, I know I sound like a broken record, but the numbers don’t lie. It was another month of solid increases and we are up in all of our communities and in all categories.
Last month, year-over-year, housing prices were up across all communities: 40% in Barrie, 23% in Bradford, 24% in Newmarket, and 37% in the Toronto area.
For April 2021 vs. April 2020, you’ll see the transactions were also up in every city listed below, with Toronto leading the way with a whooping 327% increase in transactions. Barrie came in 2nd with a 266% increase in total units sold. Bradford posted a 85% increase in units sold year over year and Newmarket was up 81%
The average sale price was up in April 2021 vs. April 2020: in Barrie, the average sale price was $810,332, in Bradford, the average sale price was $1,107,926, in Newmarket, the average sale price was $1,211,819, and in Toronto, the average sale price was $1,699,756.
